Watercolor painting is an easy way to express yourself through art. It’s also a relaxing activity that will give you a chance to unwind after a long day at work or school.
Start with a Basic Sketch
If you’re new to watercolors, start by sketching out a simple design before adding color. This helps you figure out what colors go together and how much paint you need. When starting out, it’s best to stick to a few basic shapes such as circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles. These shapes help you understand how to create different textures and patterns. Once you feel comfortable with basic shapes, you can branch out into more complicated designs.
Slow and steady
Watercolors are one of the easiest mediums to learn because there aren’t many rules to follow. You simply add water to pigment (the paint) and mix it until you get the desired consistency. The key to getting started is to practice drawing shapes first. Once you master basic shapes, you can move on to more complex designs
Fun and No Mess
Watercolors are one of my favorite mediums to work with. They’re inexpensive, portable, and easy to store. Plus, they’re relatively easy to clean up after you’ve finished using them. In addition to being versatile, watercolors are also very forgiving. Unlike other mediums, you can easily change your mind and start over without having to worry about ruining your masterpiece.
Go ahead, take a brush and have fun exploring!
